“If you’re hurting, lost or confused, know that you’re not alone in your struggles. I’ve been on your side. I was fearful to ask for help. I didn’t know what I was even asking for help for. I just knew something wasn’t right. I’m glad I took that initial step and my journey brought me to the place where I can help provide the same encouragement to you.”

Every person has a story that has shaped who they are today. Often the trajectory of where to go next is unclear and seeking help can be daunting. Laurel Lampasas works with children 8 and up, and specializes with teenagers and adults that are seeking counsel as they navigate through the trials of life. Laurel practices therapy using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Adlerian influences. She also offers Christian Counseling to those interested.

A Houston native growing up in the Memorial area, Laurel is familiar with the social and educational pressures of the area and the toll it can take when the individual or family has trouble advocating for their mental health needs. Laurel has also worked with multicultural clients and has experience with travel and culture and takes this into consideration in her treatment plans. She specializes in anxiety, depression, boundaries and behavioral issues.

Laurel completed her internship through the Dallas Baptist University Counseling Center, where she had experience counseling students of various ages through various life trials both with and without Christian influence, and has history working in youth ministry. Laurel has been with Memorial Child and Family Therapy since early 2019.

Laurel has received specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR).
