“Therapy is meant to model a smaller and safer world in which the client can heal, learn, and grow without fear of judgment or making mistakes along the way.”
McCayla graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Dallas Baptist University before moving to Houston, where she studied Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Houston Baptist University, graduating with a Master of Arts in 2020. McCayla started her practice in a clinical faith-based setting where she gained broad experience working with older children/pre-teens, adolescents, families, and individuals. She is passionate about therapeutic intervention for children and adolescents, using creative interventions to explore emotions and build rapport.
She believes art is a form of play in which a person of any age can become more self-aware and express themselves freely. When McCayla is not working with clients in the office, you can typically find her working on a creative project or painting!
