Michelle is a Registered Play Therapist. She provides therapy from a holistic viewpoint, integrating the emotional, cognitive, biological, social, environmental and spiritual aspects of each individual.

Michelle believes in conducting therapy in partnership with families, pediatricians, teachers, and other specialists to ensure that each child receives a personalized treatment plan that is continuously reinforced in all settings.

Michelle has experience working with a variety of cultures, having lived overseas in South Africa before beginning her Master’s degree. Michelle believes in the important role that culture and language play in families and strives to integrate cultural sensitivity into all treatment plans.

Michelle completed her internship at Dr. Michelle Forrester’s private practice and Small Steps Nurturing Center, a non-profit preschool designed to help foster social-emotional skills in children in inner city Houston. She then conducted therapy with children at Katy Child Psychology before starting Memorial Child and Family Therapy in 2017.

Michelle has received specialized training in anxiety, bilateral stimulation (a precursor to EMDR) and is a Certified Clinical Trauma Counselor & Certified Child and Adolescent Trauma Counselor. Michelle has also been trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR).
