Loren Messarra

“Counseling offers a safe, compassionate place for families to show up as they are, even when life feels messy. My goal is that children and teens feel genuinely known and celebrated, parents feel understood and supported, and families discover new ways to connect and adapt through life’s challenges.”

Loren is a graduate student intern and also a mother of 3 amazing children. She is interested in helping children, teens, and parents navigate family stress, grief, and significant life transitions.

Her counseling approach is warm, relational, and grounded in genuine respect for each client. She strives to understand each client’s inner world while helping them recognize their emotions, physical responses, needs, and patterns within relationships. Through play, creativity, and storytelling, children and teens can develop greater confidence, self-understanding, and resilience.

With nearly two decades of experience in community development, Loren has worked alongside children and families in Houston and overseas. She has also taught children from Pre-K through seventh grade for six years. These experiences have deepened her appreciation for how culture, relationships, and life experiences shape each family’s story.

As a mother of three, Loren understands how exhausting and uncertain parenting cansometimes feel. She values partnering with parents through difficult seasons. She is also interested in supporting individual parents facing caregiving strain, challenging family dynamics, or significant transitions.

In her free time, Loren enjoys visiting the mountains with her husband and children, reading, weightlifting, and exploring Houston’s vibrant food scene.
