Our therapists will help each child work through specific skills that are needed in order to build good communication and healthy relationships.
Group Options:

Child-ParentRelationship Therapy Curriculum: Implementing Brain-Based Parenting Techniques (10 weeks)
Take the opportunity to start the new year focusing on what truly matters- your relationships with your child(ren)!
In this parent group, we will explore brain-based parenting techniques together and eventually learn how to use play therapy skills to connect with our children. The result of this group will be a stronger relationship between the parent and child and the skillset to process big emotions and life circumstances together. Parents will learn how the child’s brain functions, how to effectively handle their child’s big feelings and behaviors, and how to effectively relate to their child.

About Social Skills Groups
Has your child been identified by teachers as lacking social skills? Does your child tend to play by themselves or struggle to initiate play with others? Is there trouble taking turns or sharing with siblings or other peers?
Childhood developmental stages are a key time to work through understanding and using social skills to build their own relationships.
In these social skills groups, our goal is both educate on social skills, help each child practice these skills during group and allow a child to experience what healthy relationship building looks like.
MCFT now uses original curriculum designed by our in-house therapists. This curriculum uses research-based lessons and allows users to interactively work through real-life situations through games and role-play scenarios.
Six Essential Social Skills
Feelings Identification
Empathy
Relaxation/Mindfulness
Listening Skills
Sharing/Taking Turns
Impulse Control
