“My goal is to establish a secure and nurturing environment where children and adolescents can effectively express their emotions and learn valuable coping skills to handle their daily lives.”
Hi, I’m Angelica Reyes, LPC-A, NCC, EMDR-trained, and a doctoral candidate in Counseling Education and Supervision at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.
I specialize in supporting children and adolescents facing challenges such as obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), various anxiety disorders, behavioral concerns, phobias, and trauma. My therapeutic approach integrates play therapy techniques, including Child-Centered Play Therapy and Cognitive-Behavioral Play Therapy, alongside EMDR and other evidence-based methods. Together, we foster resilience and promote balance, helping children express their feelings, regulate emotions, and achieve greater self-understanding.
To help my younger clients manage their symptoms, I also specialize in play therapy. Play therapy allows children to express their feelings and experiences in a safe, natural way, even without words. As a result, children often experience improved emotional regulation, reduced behavioral challenges, and a deeper understanding of themselves. This process can also build confidence, support healthier social interactions, and empower children to face their difficulties with resilience. Additionally, have intensive training in integrating play therapy with EMDR, to help children who have experienced trauma process traumatic memories.
